Excelerate your Success!

One of the main uses of Excel in my field is to track and manage data related to transportation services, such as routes, schedules, costs, and customer information. By using Excel functions and formulas, I can easily manipulate and organize data, perform calculations, and generate insights. For example, when I worked as a transportation coordinator at LogistiCare, I designed and implemented a cost-tracking system using Excel, considering factors such as contractor cost per mile and the cost of gas per charter. This initiative resulted in significant financial savings, cutting costs after its implementation across the team.
The ultimate goal my field is to automate and simplify tasks and workflows that are repetitive, time-consuming, or prone to errors. By using Excel tools such as macros, VBA, and Power Query, I can create and run scripts that perform actions automatically, such as importing and exporting data, updating and formatting cells, and sending and receiving emails. For example, when I worked as a service dispatcher at Leonard’s Express, I designed and created a comprehensive dispatching dashboard that automatically with very few inputs determine arrival times of loads based on Hours of Service. I utilized Bing Maps Truck Routing API to give vehicle specific routes.
In conclusion, Excel is an essential skill that I have developed and applied throughout my career in dispatching and logistics. By using Excel, I have been able to improve the quality and efficiency of my work, as well as the satisfaction and retention of my customers and drivers. I am always eager to learn new and advanced ways of using Excel to further enhance my capabilities and impact.
